Senior IT AWS Infrastructure Technician

Location: Alajuela, Costa Rica (On-site)
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Objective: Supervise the functionality of applications and ensure a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network. Coordinate with the Infrastructure team for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operations. Lead decisions for software development, create architectural approaches for software design and implementation, and ensure alignment between IT capacity and business objectives.
Main Responsibilities:

Validate IT system and network/telecom baselines and documentation, ensuring proper network functionality and incident resolution in line with SLAs.
Supervise IT system and network/telecom security to maintain a robust security posture.
Collaborate with third-party vendors to align technology roadmaps and ensure compliance with security policies.
Monitor LAN, WAN, Wireless, and DAS/telecom system performance to prevent outages and maintain optimal performance.
Position Context:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to learn new technologies and manage organizational change due to growth.
Expertise in Microsoft HyperV, Windows Server, Clustering, HP SAN, Suse Linux, and AWS cloud environments.
Experience with TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN, VPN, VLANS, ADSL configuration.
Experience with Aruba-ClearPass, Fortinet, and hosting services.
Role & Relationships:

Regular alignment with all Operations Departments for implementations and requests.
Collaborate with Internet Service Providers for service availability and Infrastructure Providers for alignment and partnership.
Job Requirements:

Education:
College Degree in Administrative fields or similar.
Desirable: Project Management.
Technical Knowledge:
Mandatory: TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN, VPN, VLANS, ADSL configuration.
Desirable: Experience with Aruba-ClearPass, Fortinet, and hosting services.
Experience:
4-8 years of professional experience in network infrastructure and security.
Languages:
Spanish, Advanced English.
Travel:
Availability to travel with an up-to-date passport is desirable.
Physical Requirements:

Primarily a seated position with computer use, limited movement, no load handling.
Work environment provides adequate lighting and low noise exposure.
